Intermittent fasting has become a popular way to lose weight, reduce inflammation, and improve our overall health.
While I have no doubt that it is very beneficial for those who can do it and eat sensibly in between fasts. However, if you have a history of binge eating or restricting, and are in the early stages of trying to outgrow that habit, it may trigger a relapse into old patterns of behaviour.
Rather than doing long fasts, I strongly suggest shorter fasts, such as going without food between dinner and breakfast the next morning.
Including these short daily fasts, and avoiding sugar and hyper-processed foods, will take you a long way towards reducing inflammation, weight loss and improving your overall health.
