I was as bad an emotional eater as anyone I have met. I thought I would never find peace with food.
I have found peace and I know that it is possible to make a full recovery. The path to freedom takes time, courage, commitment, and patience.
Whilst it is helpful to have a little knowledge about how foods affects us, I think it is more important to become aware of how we’re thinking, and how that affects us.
It is impossible to talk about food without talking about everything else, because everything links together.
Just for today if you can tune into eating what your body wants, when you are hungry, and stopping when you are satisfied, it could be the start of a whole new life.
If you eat when you aren’t hungry and are unable to stop when you are full, with unspeakable kindness, try to get curious as to why you are using food for comfort. Ask yourself what is so uncomfortable that you unable to give it your attention.
